I Like Things.

Have you ever read Sylvia Plath? I have. I really resonate with her desire to be everything and do everything. I also relate to her fear of jeopardizing what she loves because she has to choose what she wants to do with her life.

This is what I love. This is who I am.

  • My best friend
  • My family
  • The Arctic Monkeys
  • Creative Writing
  • "The Lovers" by Rene Magritte
  • Photography
  • Feeling warm and fuzzy inside
  • When I've just woken up, and my feet feel so comfy under my duvet
  • The color red
  • When I've heard an amazing song for the first time
  • Sketching
  • Going up on planes
  • When I am under water
  • Touching the floor of a pool
  • Chocolate lava cake
  • Chocolate
  • Laughing
  • This blog
  • Dancing even though I am a bad dancer
  • The sun's rays shining on my back
  • My arm hair
  • When I am somewhere new
  • When I am walking down the street and I really take in where I am and I am so mesmerized with my city--- my home.
  • Watching a good film
  • Filming with my camera
  • When I'm inspired and I have to get my thought out on paper because it is genius
  • Release from stress
  • Reading a book or play that makes me think
  • When I get goose bumps after hearing something profound
  • L'homme Run
  • When I look in a mirror and I like what I see
  • When I read something I wrote and I like what I see
  • Learning new languages
  • Speaking new languages
  • Music that makes sense
  • Music with no lyrics but still makes sense
  • Exchanging ideas with others
  • Feeling accomplished
  • Finding things I thought I lost

That is all I can think of right now. There are so many components to one person and I think that each person should embrace them all. Feel free to share your own likes, dislikes, etc. or not. That is okay too. গুডবাই এখন জন্য!

Socrates said What!?

I have been given an amazing opportunity to work with a college professor at Columbia University this summer. I was able to participate in a socratic seminar, visit an exhibit on activism, and bask in Columbia's gorgeous campus. This program will have lasting effects in both my studies and in my ideals. I have flipped through the pages of various writings by Plato, Thucydides, Aristotle, Hobbes, and Lincoln while juggling what it means to be an activist and a citizen. This has come to be an enlightening summer!

Tchao for now!

Rainy and Patriotic

Twas' the fourth of july yesterday! It rained for a lot of it and it was pretty chilly, but overall a great day! I went to City Island with the family. Ate some greasy food. Played around with the camera. I am realizing more and more as I continue with this blog.... that I really enjoy fattening food. I like to think that I enjoy the finer things in life (love veggies & fruits just as much as the next person---- but deep fried foods make my heart swoon). Anyway, enjoy! Hope the day was enjoyed by all!

A week of NJ, more burgers, and a rat

So these are just pics I took like 2 weeks ago. I meant to post them up, but I couldn't find my wire thing to connect my camera to my laptop. I was still able to blog using my phone (which has a surprising nice camera), so some of my previous posts use that camera.

Anyway, to summarize these pics,  I went to the mall, ate some burgers. Malls suck in Manhattan (if you can even call them that), so I went elsewhere which is in NJ. Another day, I went to a graduation party which was in this outside area of my building. Other pics may include that one day I stepped outside of my house for like 30 minutes to take pictures, saw a rat, and went back home.

 Hope ye enjoyed!
